There are so many dolls that I want to see from so many different time frames. I think a 40's or 50's doll would have so many options. I personally have an interest in WWII history. While Molly told one story being the child of a service member there are so many other stories to tell from this time period. Japanese internment camps, jewish children sent far from home, post hiroshima.
The 50's also present a very interesting opportunity for a civil rights african american girl.
Most of these topic are deeper than a childrens book could describe for the target age group of American Girl.
Westward expansion, Alaskan Gold rush, Californian Gold rush, Immigration in the 1800/1900 from everywhere. So many time periods and nationalities aren't represented!
